OUR CHILDREN, OUR LEGACY
Gold’s Give Back: Project Fit America
What is Project Fit America?
"We are a national agency that works at the grassroots level with schools and frontline educators to create new opportunities for kids to be active, fit and healthy. We believe in fit kids, one school at a time. We work with communities to bring in funding, equipment, teacher training, curriculum and the resources schools need to get kids fit and foster a love of movement. When Project Fit America comes to a school, kids never want to miss PE and teachers report they see fantastic changes not just in their students' health, but in their attitude toward fitness and healthy life styles. We are an action-based charity which means the funds we receive result in kids in motion. We have been doing this work for twenty years plus and have learned that it is true- if you build it, they will come!"
— Stacey Cook, Executive Director, Project Fit America
"We are very excited to be involved with Project Fit America as part of our charitable Convention activity this year. At Gold’s Gym, we believe in the education of younger generations, especially when the education highlights something as important as personal health, wellness and fitness. Organizations like Project Fit America are important for shaping the viewpoints of our future members; we are proud to partner with Project Fit America in support of making this learning experience fun and educational for children"
— Bridget Sypolt, Director of Meetings & Vendor Relations, Gold’s Gym

Who is Abel Gonzalez, American Ninja Warrior?
Watching Professional American Ninja Warrior Abel Gonzalez breeze through the tough obstacles of American Ninja TV game shows, one might think Abel’s always been the picture of health and determination. But that’s not the case. Abel has overcome his own personal obstacle course to get to where he is today. Seeing his family disintegrate around him when he was only ten years old, Abel voluntarily took on the role of primary caregiver to his younger brothers when he was just twenty. Three years later, he received a devastating diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis, commonly considered a life-long debilitating disease. Through dedicated work and study, Abel overcame an understandably negative outlook on life and at the same time shed the mantle of disability.
Today Abel Gonzalez works steadfastly at maintaining his health and abilities and encourages others to share in his passion and cry that #WeAreAllAbel. See Abel on NBC's American Ninja Warrior, Esquire Network's Team Ninja Warrior and USA Network's Ninja VS Ninja!
